Finished long haired cat

So here is the finished cat from yesterday.

I rather like the eyes and I’ve put a close up below. If you are painting an animal and can see both eyes, I would recommend trying to make one slightly more dominant – either in clarity or colour -I don’t mean size!! It’s just we find it a bit confusing if both eyes draw our attention equally. Frankly we don’t know where to look first. And generally it is not my aim to confuse the viewer (though I expect I do sometimes…).

I really must stop with the cats, but I am so enjoying this colour combination. I was thinking a hare or two might be rather lovely. There’s enough paint left in my palette and as I have said before, I do hate wasting paint!
