Back to the Saturday Gallery 30 March – 28 April

Where does time go? Gosh, what a few weeks it’s been.

About three weeks ago my father had a stroke. Luckily, it appears to be relatively minor, but has left him with his speech rather mangled and struggling with reading and writing. He is having lots of therapy and I have seen a dramatic improvement. He is very positive, so working hard and I hope things will continue to get better for months to come. Such a worry though.

Then, far more mundane, the washing machine gave up the ghost (with two boys, the washing mountain grows rapidly and alarmingly), then the shower broke and we had water dripping through the light fitting downstairs. On Monday we were woken by the smoke alarm and a very nasty smell from the boiler. So we have been without heat and hot water all week. Feeling very Victorian boiling water to wash in on the stove and stoking up the wood burner.

Anyway, all this means that blogging has been a low priority, but I have still managed to paint and frame – mainly because I am having a small exhibition at the Saturday Gallery in Wokingham starting on Saturday:
